Default XJS Rust Repair Question

Thinking about buying an XJS that needs some rust repair on the floor pan and one rear fender. Has anyone done these before? Do these look that bad from anyone that knows the bottom of these cars?

Interior is good
Has John Conversion LT1

I am attaching pics

If it's got that it probably has more, me, I'd walk away but then again I wouldn't consider a "nice shape" V8 conversion XJS. These cars don't fetch much (see "recent auction prices" thread) and they really don't fetch much in V8 conversion form (flak jacket on from the V8 conversion crowd)...if you want to buy an XJS there are good examples out there w/o the rust.

Those are major rust repairs and as TJ said it will have more. It would be cheaper in long run to buy a car with good body and swap the motor for LT1 if this is what you want.

I have just been through a 2.5 year resto on mine and my car had almost no visible rust, just 1 small bubble.

If you can get it cheap enough, and are able to do all the repair yourself, it could be OK. If you have to pay someone else to repair it, it is not worth it.

Rust free cars can be had quite easily in DFW, no sense in wasting your time with this.
