XJS TH400 to TKO500 conversion from your friendly Ohio redneck.
Still taking to myself, but since some of you are listening, here is the scoop.
I got pilot bushing cut to fit the crank by a friend, and now seemingly ready to reassemble, however dealing with thedrivenman.com is not fun.
Their shipping guy promised that my pedals would be on the way yesterday, however when I called in today he hung up on me, mumbling something on his end of the line. It has been 3 months now and I am still unable to install this kit, which came with no instructions, wrong speedometer pickup and missing pedal unit, due to their lack of cores for that.
At this point, I am ready to can the whole idea, plus that $5K back seems like a good idea.

Spoke to the guy, he is nice. I agree and being in business myself I am all about being reasonable, but today is 90 days since I paid and still all parts are not here. BTW, just found another part missing, hopefully this will be the last one.
Another mind numbing chapter on the way to 5-speeds.
Sure enough, bell housing is way off center, we are looking at moving it:
down - .37mm
Right - .05mm
Throw out bearing retainer pin is missing, was supposedly mailed to me yesterday. Pedal unit is on its way as well, so I am a little bit closer to wroom - wroom and zoom - zoom.

when i put mine together with that bell, the pin was too short, and it didnt come with enough spacers. i switched to a mcleod throwout bearing which has served me very well. and didnt leek like my orignal one did. good luck
The orignal throwout bearinf blew to pieces when i used a too big master on it. And it's impossible to adjust without takinf the bell out. The mcleod bolts onto the front of the trans and has two swivel connections. Also i believe for the tko it has a screw adjustment which is convenient
guys follow in my footsteps, (not when installing rod bearings tho) and make your own kit. get the 5 speed bell and get a t5 or tko from jegs or summit or gforce. driveshafts can be obtained anywhere. heck id even go into buisness making the pedals for y'all if you really need it. youll be much happier when you get your own kit. because you can specify things that you want for yourself. like shortthrow shifter. although you dont have a warrentee and you need to make your own trans crossmember. but in my opinion its worth it.
Mish, what a complete PITA your supplier seems to have been. The DM offers to export this stuff, I mean, someone over here would be quite badly off if important stuff was not shipped, bits were misssing etc etc.
How precisely did you measure the bell being off centre of the crank, please?
Still, you have come a very long way, so must be worth seeing it through. Courage.
Greg
Rejoice ladies and gents, I got my pedals. Now missing parts are down to 1, which was supposed to be in this package. Also, please see what a respectful package they provided, can you tell that their shipping person is trying to make a statement?
At this point, if anyone is thinking about ordering from them, think again.
