Default Xjs and v12 badge removal

As the title says I need to remove the rear badges as part of the process of stripping the car for paint. I just wondered if anyone has done this and can offer any advice in the best way to take them off and save for re use . Many thanks in advance for any suggestions

They may be stuck on, with guide tangs just in plastic pressed in fittings; but early models had tangs that went through the metalwork and had star clips on the tangs. These latter have to be removed from the inside.

Mine had both the tangs and double sided tape, the tangs are quite fragile and as careful as I was broke a couple off. They have been held on the car now for 5 years with good quality automotive double sided tape.
