Jan & Dean, been there, when that song was new, i had my 1957 corvette modded engine(what else), never had a Jaguar of any type beat my vette.

song was kinda scary tho,(ah hell,full speed ahead).

Whew, I am old. Freeway all the way. I drove at 60-65. No one slower than I. All others just blasted by !!! Good, I wasn't driving the
lump. I might of gotten myself in a jamb.


Good part. Battery took the charge. Jaguar fired almost instantly.
For now, I'll call it inactivity. Store later, I'll take it.


And Coco like it better. He doesn't like getting in the Jeep. Too high for an easy jump or bad memories of past things. Dog catcher wagon!!! He is kinda fat and has short legs.

and heaven knows at my age 82 i dont drive like i did with my 57 vette.

had that car many times peg the speedo 145mph,and kept on pulling on,, never even gave thought anything happening, you know young ,dumb, full of c#*!!

only thing i can say is "been there done that".

I don't know that I've found a theme song for my Jaguar yet, but the first song we ever listened to was Daft Punk's Give Life Back to Music.

 

For those of us who have owned our cars for at least a decade, and, have worked on, rebuilt, modified, and/or replaced nearly every component on them at least once...

 

My daughter and I used to listen to Dread Zeppelin's "Un-led-ed" album on the way to school almost daily, as it was the only working tape we had that we both liked.

One piece at a time sure fits too.

Great story! Sounds like you have a few years on me but that story reminds me of following the Grateful Dead in the early '90s. I had a 1984 diesel VW Rabbit and enough imagination to make $$ selling grilled cheese sandwiches in the parking lot. Oh the stories come rushing back as I think about it. Thanks Ronbros for jogging my memory!

 

99% of the time it's Mark Knopfler, no matter if I'm driving or working on my car in the shop. Maybe a little more of an obscure pick but I can't turn it off. From the early Dire Straits to modern Knopfler. Fantastic music.

You've heard of him, perhaps as Dire Straits? You couldn't get away from his hits like "Money for Nothin'", "Walk of Life" and "So Far Away" in the 80s. Before that he had a ton of hits like "Skateaway", "Romeo and Juliet", "Sulatns of Swing", and a bunch of others.

If you liked that clip, you may want to acquaint yourself with his catalogue. He's got a worthwhile career of songs to listen to.
