Welp, bad news on the Evoque paddles...

The Jaguar parts and tech guy called me and said the paddles do look similar, but they are different parts. One of them has the switch built into the paddle, and the other has the switch built into the column.

So the Evoque paddles will not work with the XKR (at least not without modification).

Back to square 1...

As for the XKR-S GT paddles, they said Jaguar would require a VIN before they would ship that part out. Anyone know someone with a XKR-S GT? Then we might be able to get a few out.

Darn...thanks for the update. I should have opened both up before ordering. I'll still give it a try once they come in and let you guys know. If it won't work then I'll just have to sell it to one of the Rover guys.

BTW...do you know if the F-Type paddles will work on our cars? I know they're plastic but still bronze will match my brake calipers.

Nope, I didn't ask about them. Do you know if they are the same as XKR except a different color? In that case, you could just remove and paint them yourself any color you want. I am not sure if they are the same.

I am hoping for something with a better feel than the plastic, so I didn't bother to ask.

I just emailed my UK dealer contact to see if they have better luck ordering the aluminum paddles from the XKRS-GT. I'm pretty sure they will need a vin also but I'll let you know once they get back to me hopefully tomorrow.

Hi Guys any update on the aluminum paddles? I'm going with an Alcantara wheel and these would look great. Does this part number VPLVS0187CAY from the land Rover work on the XKR?

If you guys want XKRS-GT paddles my dealer can probably get a few as was willing to order the GT sway bar for me.

That part number does work on the XKR. That's the one I ordered for my Rover but did install it on my XKR to see if it works. Looks like they are reversible as the F-Type bronze paddles works on my Rover also.

I bought mine from a Rover/Jag UK dealer (Dan@Duckworth). Alot of time with the exchange rate, it is cheaper than here. He's very popular vendor on the Rover board. Not sure I can post his info here so if anyone want his info to compare pricing, IM me

Will Aston Martin paddles work on our cars? My issue with all of these is they are all the same size…too small...

From what I have read in Ghostrider's thread, the aluminum paddles do work and they are slightly larger than the stock ones. I emailed Mina a few months ago about making some carbon fiber ones and they said that is a good idea...but I haven't heard anything since.

The aluminum ones are pretty expensive for what they are, I think. Hopefully Mina will come up with something at a better price point. If they do, I'm in.

The aluminum ones are slightly larger which I prefer cuz you can then see it behind the wheel. Only thing I don't like the aluminum ones are they don't illuminate as the +/- are cutout. They are expensive. I bought 2 sets of the aluminum ones but couldn't justify both sets so I sold one sets to a member here on the board.

I think they were around £255+ shipping for the pair. I did get an even more discount on the paddles as I also bought carbon fiber mirror caps, side vents, hood vents, clear taillights and smoked headlights at the same time.

Here's my XKR stock paddles and my Evoque stock paddles. They look exactly the same.

I'm going to see if I can get red aluminum ones from my dealer. Going to try for the GT paddles but they are probably 2500 bucks. I'm actually driving an Evoque as a loaner and as you said they look identical to what is in XKR

Thank you all for the advice

The paddle shifters can be disassembled, they just pry apart, so I am commissioning a set for mine tomorrow, with aluminum or carbon. Will let you know how it turns out.

Let me know I'd love to have a set if you don't mind sharing who built them.

Let's see how they turn out first. If they are awesome, then perhaps other members may want to order them too.
