If anyone wants you could do as i did,
Bought them on eBay,
So they say there for a BMW but didn't bother me. Took off the hinge bit first. They came in aluminium finish which i could have left, but got some carbon fiber vinyl which was a near 100% match of my car trim. Covered both sides of the paddles and it looked identical. Then i made a template of each paddle from cardboard and done some cutting to make fit. When happy put down template on each paddle and cut them to suit. Stuck the new paddles on top of old one with some teck 3 silicone and finished, working fine. Took a while to get cutting wright so paddles would still work. Anyone who has seen them comment straight away on how good they look, especially when they match the carbon inside trim, they look a bit brighter , but that's the camera flash, the old ones looked as they might have never been there. Since i fitted them i use the paddles all the time.
Picture show stages and finish

So I just received and fitted a set of the F-type ones, part number T2R6547MMU:

Ngarara, I think you were saying you'd potentially be keen if these were less prone to accidental gearshifts - they are, the click action on these is a little firmer than on the standard plastic items, which should help.

They also look much nicer and feel way better than the plastic ones. I got mine off eBay, paid considerably less than the official dealer price. I'm really pleased with them but I still think the dealer price is too much for what they are. I'll get some photos of them fitted later.

8bit: Did the F-type paddles just drop right in as replacements or did you need to do some "fine-tuning"?

I am very hesitant posting this based on my past expectations for being able to deliver but tomorrow I am meeting with a fellow Jaguar enthusiast who has been custom fabricating Jaguar parts for years. He believes he can deliver custom carbon fiber paddles quickly and relatively inexpensively. I am dropping off my factory ones and he will wrap and enlarge the existing paddles for a factory seamless look.

Stay tuned...

No fine tuning required, just unbolt the old ones, disconnect the cable from in side and attach and bolt on the new ones. It was a little bit fiddly getting access to the torx screws (only one on each paddle) and a small, flat-blade screwdriver will help with unclipping the cable.

For the torx screws, I'd recommend a small ratchet and a fairly low-profile torx bit. Can't remember what torx bit is required but it's fairly small. Might be easier if you start the car, turn the wheel so you've got easier access to the back of it too.

Definitely will do. Today I received pics of the new prototypes so I could provide feedback before the final product is fabricated. Prototypes looked great. Fingers crossed but I should have them installed next week.
