90,000 carefully driven miles through the rust belt's pothole free roads.
Never seen winter, driven just one summer, to Australia and back.
Like new.

That's the brightest-blue "Lunar Grey" I've ever seen.
Going by the pics, it doesn't look bad at all, for the price.

I don't buy cars from reseller like that nor would I ever spend a moments time ever buying from a retail place that does not have the decency to publish prices but that's just me...

Now price is shown wasn't earlier. That is not lunar gray, my car is

Color looks 'off' in those pictures, as you can see some windows in the background of a couple of shots, and the outside tree colors look wrong.

Been to that dealer one time, before I bought my XK (sight unseen), just to test drive a XK coupe they had at the time.

They do stock some drool worthy cars, and the sales staff didn't seem a lot sleazier than other places, but I didn't check them out in detail, as I wasn't actually interested in the car that they had.

My thoughts, they better get used to looking at it in their lot with those miles and that price. Not the most desirable color lacking in options unknown history

Think the cheapest xk is currently going for 60k in Australia

For 18k you could land a 1996 xk8 with over 200k km and they call us the lucky country

I wouldn't buy any car with 90,000 miles on it. Never.

Setting aside the color (that's the bluest "Vapor Grey" I've ever seen), and the wheels, which I'm not fond of, I'm not sure I'd buy it. Here's why:

There's nothing wrong with that mileage mark... depending on the car. There's a whole culture of Mercedes fans who scoff at any MBZ with LESS than 150k miles on it, and given the year, many models can easily go above 200k miles without major repair. (Before I bought my XKR, I sold my SL500 with 141,000 miles on it) Cars are made to be driven, and one or more owners loved driving that car.

But know this: at some point, any car will become a "project." It won't die, or need a new engine or trannie, it's just that all the little things that "go" on that make and model will, in fact, start to go. And the interior will start to look tired (worn out pedals, heel-hole in the carpet, cracks in the leather, etc). And it'll have that "old car" feel. And you'll look up its resale and realize that you gotta make a "do it or not" decision on every repair because you'll never get the money out on resale.
So the question is, how many easy miles will you have in this car before then? I really don't know on these cars. Other people on this forum would have a better idea.

Also, while this is relatively cheap (personally I think they'd take the first offer over $16K), the value of the car drops at 100K miles, as third party lenders understandably don't want to finance a high-mile car. I still loved my MBZ at 100k miles, and it looked and ran great, but had a very unpleasant surprise when I went onto KBB just to check the value.
So, if you love it and are ready to drive and maintain it until that "sell-it-to-some-kid-for-five-thousand-bucks" point, maybe. Otherwise, I'd pass.
Also, NINE Illinois winters? (at those miles I have to assume this was at least a 3-season car) Put it up on a lift and take a good luck underneath.
Good luck!

But wait!
I went to their site-- if you can't come to terms on that XKR, they're also offering THIS SWEET RIDE:

For $41,000 you can buy a pristine 2009 Jaguar XKR Portfolio Edition Convertible that listed for $108,000 and only has 18,000 miles. Includes Portfolio Edition Luxury Package, new custom milled 20" Braelin wheels, new Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires, and a complete set of extra OEM Jaguar Selena wheels w TPMS, Adamemsh wind deflector, a nano-ceramic paint coating, and few other goodies.

Now that's a deal.

Many people who shop the Jaguar brand seem to only consider price (low) and cars with ultra high mileage.

Hard for me to understand why anybody would consider a vehicle purchase with 90,000 or over 125,000 miles, just because it looks cool and may be considered cheap.

They think they can get into a marque car brand/example and not pay a lot... little do they know. It's like trying to buy a Ferrari 355 with 80K miles salvaged for $40K, it's a Ferrari and it cost less that pristine ones.

My mother would enter a clothing store, go to the clearance rack, grab whatever had the biggest discount, then try to tell me how much money she just saved... that mentality just blows my mind.

case 621B - can I put a sub in it? Does it have GDI??? If so I'll pass! Is it supercharged? I don't fellow forum buddies laughing at me that I didn't pony up to the big leagues. What's the best oil and tires for it? Is there anything I should look for? Does Mina make any body enhancement for it? Does Spires make a more aggressive exhaust of it?
