07 XK/XKR Antenna Update
Hi Guys:
I have a contact in Jaguar who has just told me that they have not yet devoloped a retrofit for the antenna and cannot, at this stage, confirm that they will do so.
Anyway, I love a challenge and I was wondering if the 07 spoiler did, in fact, have an antenna lead like they are now using for the 08. Well, I took off the trunk lid lining and, guess what? The antenna lead is right there!
I followed the lead to a connector in the trunk (near the body antenna) and thought that, rather than follow it right through the car (don't want to start removing seats, etc) I could mate the connector from the spoiler antenna to the connector leading from the body antenna (making the body antenna obsolete) which would then form the am/fm antenna connection right through from the spoiler to the radio.
Unfortunately, the connectors are slightly different in size so would not mate together. The antenna lead from the spoiler is slightly thinner than the lead from the body antenna. I was wondering if it is possible to obtain a connector that would allow me to join these 2 different size connectors together?
Lastly, why is that spoiler antenna lead wired thru the car when only the body antenna is used? I am assuming only the body antenna is connected as, when I disable the body antenna, the am/fm is crap so I am assuming that the spoiler antenna is not going anywhere(?) If I knew where the radio receiver was and how to (easily) access it, I could take a look!
I am determined to get to the bottom of this, so any help/input appreciated.
Factory Jag Tech?? - Anyone??
Thanks - Roger

Keep me updated on this. I just pulled the fuse for the factory antenna today and no problem on the fm. Don't care about am. I do lose a little bit of reception going through a tunnel but so far (and it's only been a few hours) its more than passable. Good luck. Eager to hear if you make this work.
