Default 18 inch vs 19 inch wheel on the XK

I saw an F-type today parked next to me and I noticed that he had 18 inch wheels. This surprised me as I was expecting it to have 19's.

Has anybody here put 18's on their XK? How does it compare to 19's? Visually the 18's looked pretty good. I like the bigger sidewall.

2007 models were offered with 18" rims.
Rim sizes have been discussed here many times, and it really boils down to personal driving preferences.
Larger rims are dedicated to looks, but do allow fitment of larger brake rotors.
Smaller rims will allow more comfort, higher grip, and lower overall tire costs...

I had stock 18s on my 2007 and thought they perform very well. The throttle had a sensitive point when accelerating from stop (almost like a jerk when starting out) so I switched to 20s. That smoothed that out very well and gave it a taller appearance.

My 2012 came with 19s and I love the ride though they don't show the calipers as I would like. I put the 20s on it liking the looks again but they have the wrong spacing and I now get some tire rub.

Bottom line is that 18s work really well and were stock on the 2007 XK but 19s are much the same and have a better look IMHO.

PW, I wonder if instead the new tires just had more grip than the old and didn't cause the small slip?

It was not an issue of slip but a non-linear or small dead band in the accelerator. If you were very careful with the right foot it was not a problem. The wife always thought I was just guitly of jack rabbitt starts. lol

I think the 20" wheels had just enough more mass to reduce the effect.
