Default 2007 or 2008?

Hello all, my first day here.

I talked my girlfriend into the Jag. She buys a new car every year to year and a half out of boredom (I am a lucky guy, always a new car to drive) She finally got bored of her BMW 550 after 1.5 years and the main reason was "Everybody in our area drives a BMW" So I figured the Jag would solve the problem and it did. She loves them. And hopefully I finally found a car that she will love more than a year, and if not, I will take it over (Like I did with the Range Rover that made it 6 months before she wanted to trade it in)

Sorry if this was asked before. I am doing some real quick research on the car (girlfriend has the bug and needs the car ASAP) We found two that she likes. an 07 with 8700 miles and an 08 with 27k miles. Both XKR's, both hard tops. Same color same price. I think the 07 has more options as I was told the original sales price was 103 and the 08 was around 93 (salesman said the 07 has the adaptive cruise control, the black leather, and 20in wheels which were supposedly upgrades?) . From my quick research online there isn't really a lot of differences between the 2 years, am I right?

The one difference, this seems to be a slight sticking point with my girl is the 07 has the pop up antenna. Other than that she loves the 07. Still has the new car smell.

Any suggestions or comments would be great. If there were other options that you know of that came with the above options above that would be great as well. Or just point me in the right direction to find the info would be good also)

Thanks a lot and I look forward to being a contributing member of this forum. If it's anything like the Land Rover and BMW forums I have been on I know it will be great.

USCBRYAN, I had the same choice as your girl friend and I went with the 07 because of the mileage. Almost an identical scenario. The antenna can be kept retracted if you pull #4 fuse while in the down position. The only thing is, no AM reception. FM works well with all the wiring in the car acting as an antenna and CD plays without the antenna up. I believe the two years don't have any major differences between them. The only problem with the 07 IMHO is even with the antenna down you can see a slight button on the rt. rear fender where the antenna lurks.

Beyond that, I'd go with the fewer miles and more options.

Good luck.

I have a 2007 XK. I had my auto body remove the antenna, fill the hole and repaint the quarter panel. It was real easy and looks great!
