Default 2007 top down speed?

Just purchased a 2007 XK and joined this Forum. Seems to me that it takes a lot of time to lower/raise the top. OK, I am the impatient sort.

What is an average time to lower/raise the top?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Haven't timed it. But I can stop for a traffic light here being red and by the time it changes I'm done. That would be an Alabama 4 way. lol

Jaguar says 18 seconds and I find that is about right for my 2008.

On another note, my top raises up then drops down onto the body with such force, I am afraid the convertible top frame is going to break one of these days...

I've actually timed mine just for fun. From the time I press the button until I release it my 08 XK takes right at 20 seconds. That's pretty fast by vert standards. Some cars take 30 seconds or more.

I do like the ability to raise/lower the top while moving slowly. I had the top down and it started to sprinkle, so as I was approaching a stop light I was able to raise the top while still moving. I was going less than 25 MPH but if I had to wait to come to a complete stop myself and the interior would have gotten wet.

Important to note- just yesterday I took off down the road with the cover wide open like a moron...
It was too sunny to see the warning (I'm colorblind, but dont think that was a factor)
