Unhappy 2007 XK Brake Light Socket/harness

Howdy. Dash light indicated Brake Light Failure on the passenger side. I removed the harness and replaced bulb. Didn't correct the malfunction. The problem turned out to be the little metal connector at the bottom of the bulb socket is broken. I've looked online for just the socket with no luck. I've also looked for the complete tail light wiring harness at several Jaguar dealer online parts listings without success. HELP! Thanks for any info/suggestions. Jim

No way to repair the little metal connector at the bottom?
Nearly everything can be repaired with a little bit of ingenuity. A dab of solder, a smidge of JBWeld and a zip tie are certainly cheaper (and faster) than an OEM harness for $2,866.

At the least I'd be looking at a junk yard for the end on a wiring harness. I'm pretty sure they cut harness's free so you should be able to pick one up cheap then "butt" splice it in place. That part is probably common through out the Jag line too so the donor doesn't have to be an xk.

Yeah, junk yard with the same vintage Fords or other Jags should have a similar connection. Pity it's such a PITA to get the rear lamp housing off the body.
