Default 2007 XK electric Ariel alternatives

Sorry if this has been discussed before - I've run a quick search and came up with so many hits, my head span!

I'm looking to swap out the electric Ariel on my XK (2007) and wondered if anyone had a good standard alternative.

It would be great to update the look of the car with something a little newer, that isn't a complete hemorrhoid to fit!

Anyone else looked into this?

Thanks
Munky

You're right, there is a lot of material on this topic. You could remove the antenna and then mount a 'stubby' antenna on top of the existing antenna housing. Or, you could just remove the fuse to disable the extending of the antenna, no more whip flying atop your rear fender. I still get 95% great fm reception but very little am reception.

I love the electric antenna! It gives the xk a very cool look to it and makes you feel like 007 when it rises to the occasion. I would leave it as it is and be happy knowing you have the last vestige of the old world. Why ruin a stunning car with modern throw away junk.

The best alternative is the Mina Gallery exhaust system for the normally-aspirated 4.2L XK together with an X-pipe and 200-cell catalytic converters. You'll improve the looks with the quad tailpipes, and you'll want to remove that old-fashioned electric antenna and fill in the hole because the sound of that exhaust will be such music to your ears as to make you never want to turn on your radio again!

Do a search for "2007 antenna delete", I did that here, lived what I see, did it myself for maybe $40, took an hour or so if labor, now FM reception is every bit as good as it was with the periscope though I did lose AM... don't care about that. I pulled the fuse and it never comes up

Nice... very nice. I was just going to leave my fuse out but now I see there is a MUCH better option. Thanks Stuart S. for that helpful post.
