Ah, good point. I'm just curious, what sort of wear and tear do you have on your start/stop? Can you provide pics? I just ask because my Jag is an 2010, it's stored in a unit, and I plan on keeping it in brand new condition as long as I can to be a part of my nice collection at some point in the next 20 years. I plan on putting 1500 miles on it a year. I just want to know what to look out for.
Thanks,

I have a 03 Honda S2000 with a red start button. Over time, dirt, skin oil, etc got stuck around the "start/stop" lettering causing black colored buildup. Also i have seen the paint wear off slightly on other cars. I imagine rubbing alcohol would clean the black stuff off, I just never got around to it.

^^^ exactly. And since i'm not the original owner, I don't know the exact nature of the grime in there. Plus, I actually do like the look of the silver start/stop button.
So, does anyone know if the size of the buttons are the same? If the diameter is the same I would figure it would be a relatively easy swap.
thehulme, I <3 S2Ks!! Awesome cars, so much fun!

I would be careful using alcohol on anything in the car...it has a propensity to remove finishes, lettering, etc. The same holds true about alot of the standard cleaners we take for granted here in the US but apparently the europeans make silkscreened lettering easily removed with...Check before use to avoid that sinking feeling of seeing the white lettering start smearing across the face of whatever you are cleaning...
