Default 2007 XKR 4.2 convertible X150 Wheel Stud Size

Hi, my vehicle started making a noise from the nsr thought it was a puncture at first or it had thrown a wheel weight, turns out it had sheared 3 of the wheel studs

Does anyone know the exact dimensions of the wheel studs and or original part numbers don't fancy knocking one out just to measure them

Thanks in advance

Removed and measured the sheared wheel studs if anyone is interested the dimensions are

M12 x 1.5, 13.3 mm knurl diameter

55.85mm overall length or 52.55mm length under head

The head is 19mm diameter and is 4.3mm in depth

From the top of the head to the shoulder i.e. before the thread starts is 19.6 mm or 15.3 mm from under the head

The thread start to end is 36mm although there is 4mm at the end which is chamfered and not threaded so true thread depth is 32mm

I've ordered what I think will fit which is the following :- Febi Bilstein 100166 - Length: 52,3 mm; Outside Thread: M12 x 1,5; Thread Length: 32 mm; Length under Head: 48 mm; Knurl Diameter Wheel Stud: 13 mm; Pin Head Diameter: 19 mm

Hope fully fitting them in the next few days I will let you all know how I get on and will take some pictures and try and post a picture of the original vs the replacement wheel studs and dimensions side by side

Mick Jagger said it - "You can't always get what you want." You can either (1) do that and hope you can find studs that fit or (2) buy new hubs. Jaguar doesn't sell the studs separately. See: Wheel Studs

Maybe someone else can be more helpful.

Good luck!

Chris,

Great information. It's a shame you came here looking for help and then had to answer your own question.

Am I the only one interested as to why three studs sheared off?

Was it due to incorrect torque being applied to the bolts by some over jealous tyre/wheel change, or something more sinister?

A gorilla with an air wrench. I cringe whenever I hear the sound. Nobody in greasy overalls gets anywhere near my nuts.

What else could be the cause other than excessive torque? The spec is 92 ft.-lbs.

So, if 92 is good, 102 must be better, right? That's why I have a torque wrench - to check the tire jockey's work when I get home. Ask me why I don't trust them or the torque spec they get from their company's computer.

P.S. See my Post #5 here:

I never use a torque wrench on my wheels, I go by feeling and has worked for me in almost 40 years!:-)
Never ever had a loose bolt, nock on wood!:-D
I only use my air wrench to take the wheels off.

As I've the expensive jaguar nuts (£300 a set) when I pull into a tyre place I slightly loosen them by hand using my own insulated 19mm socket and long bar, only then can wiz with an air gun with the correct 19mm socket to remove them.

I have never 'left it with a shop' to replace tyres and insist that, whilst they can use a air gun to spin them on loosely hey hand torque to the required 125nm or 92 lbft

I then return to them (or my local tyre fitter) to check after 100 miles or so FoC.

Appreciate that with a set of summer and winter rims/tyres I do this more than most, but since my local place only charge me £40 to change them over (including balancing with hidden black wheel weights) it's not that arduous

They even let me clean up the nuts and ceramic coat them when they're off and spray the wheel arches/arms/shocks with Bilt Hamber Atom-Mac

Yep am one of those customers you hate!!

this is a direct fit. Jaguar could only sell the complete assembly. I bought different studs at Autozone etc but none fit. This one finally fit from ebay
