Hello everyone, first post here and asking for help. I have a 2007 XKR 4.2 s/c, the car has been sitting for a while in a garage and the neighbour sent me a picture of red fluid underneath the passenger side in the front. I thought it was the antifreeze fluid - only gotten a chance to check on the car lately and found it had no power steering fluid (and the leak is apparently ATF).

It seems that it is the power steering fluid coolant that is leaking because the drivers side is OK, leak is stronger when the car is lifted on the drivers side. Checked the spare parts catalogues and found 2 p/ns for the power steering cooler - one for XK (C2P5673) and the other one apparently for an XKR (C2P14015).

The question is, does such leak always mean it is a replacement case and if yes, would a XK part suit the XKR in the interim while im looking for the right one? The car is with a service shop but im still googling nervously.

It seems you need to locate exactly where the leak is. Most often the power steering develops a leak in the hose that holds the power from the pump.

 

Where is it leaking from?
You never said?
If it's a hose replace it.

Also there is no such thing as "power steering fluid coolant"? It's just PS fluid.
