2010-2015 Jaguar XK control module
Hi everyone,
I have a 2011 Jaguar XK convertible and my top stopped working and I got the warning light Hood Not Latched. It came on briefly when I first started the car awhile ago but went away and everything worked fine. I didn’t realize at the time this was a reference to the convertible top and thought it was something with the bonnet (ha). A few weeks later I went somewhere with the top down, parked, put it up, and left for awhile. When I came back to go home I tried to put the top down, the windows went down but the top wouldn’t and I got the same warning light as above but the top was latched. I took it to my independent jag mechanic and initially they said it was the front driver side latch. They replaced it and the top worked briefly and then stopped and gave the same warning. They said it was a bad latch and replaced it again, it worked a couple of times for them and then stopped. Now the say it is the convertible top control module which is apparently out of stock globally. Is it possible that the latch was fine all along? And does anyone know where I could get a used control module, part number C2P15725? Or are there other ideas of what this could be?? Thanks!

There are a LOT of things to check. You already jumped to step #47. For the 46 prior steps, check out this thread:

If that fails, you can get in touch with Steve at thejagwrangler.com. He is our convertible top expert and a very nice guy. When you get to his website look at the video for the one touch/remote top controller in action. He invented it and sells them at a reasonable price. They are relatively easy to install and mine has been flawless for the last seven or eight years; since I had it installed. Good luck
Your symptom sounds like a broken wire connected to the latch sensor in the top harness. If you look for my posts you will see my stories about finding the broken wire at the fold in the top and repairing it, by substituting high strand count “robot wire” that can take the repeated bending.
