I have a 2010 XKR that needs the center console wood refinished. I have read the other posts about this, but am not quite sure how I release the clips that hold the wood in place. One post mentioned using a butter knife, but I am worried about damaging the wood or surrounding trim. There is very little space between the wood and the trim- maybe enough to slide a credit card in between.
Does any one have any tips?

I detail it with pics in this post: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ashtray-95251/. Start with the area around the ashtray until it comes up enough to get something under the sides. The clips are held in place by friction only, but they're very tight.
I have read that the all the wood trim pieces use the same clips
