Default 2012 XK ballpoint rubber boots

Only 30k miles.

looks like they’ve dry rotted on all 4 wheels.

doesn’t seem normal to me ?

I’m assuming a major repair cost ?

From what I've read in other threads, this is fairly normal. The boots tend to wear very quickly. When I talked to the dealership about this, they said JLR doesn't sell these rubber boots separately, so you're looking at replacing the entire tie rod assembly. I know some members have ordered rubber boots from eBay to replace the old ones, and that seems to have worked well for them.

Many of mine are in bad condition as well. I'm still debating whether it's worth replacing them on my own or just waiting a while and replacing the entire assembly.

yes, its normal behaviour. But there's a number of good threads on boot replacement options...

Check the X150 suspension sticky for boot DIY.
