Default 2012 XKR front end look on a 2006 XK

I know this has been discussed but did not read solid info on this.

Thinking to upgrade the front end of my 2006 xk. I think I need:

-2012 led headlights
-2012 xkr front bumper
-2012 front wings
-2012 front grilles

Has anyone done this?

I may be in Singapore in a month or so. Would like to check out your progress if there is any. Seems like not much time left on the car to be doing this to an '07 over there.

It would be cheaper to sell your car and buy what you are attempting to build...

Not in Singapore. It may not even be possible for him to buy a newer XK if he doesn't have a license to do so.

Maybe not... but its still cheaper to sell and get something else comparable. The cost is just too much unless there is just kind of unnatural emotional bond with the car.

I had a Volvo that I turned into an M5 killer... 463awhp. I could have bought 2 M5's for the cost but the addiction had already set in. Lesson Learned.

His car will be crushed by the government is 3 years either way; there are no cars over 10 years old allowed.

interesting to read all the comments but none addressing my query. everyone's an expert in matters they are completely clueless about.

a comparable 2012 xkr cost US$400k in singapore.

my 2006 xk cost us$80k

so even spending $10k on the upgrade makes it worthwhile

asianbond, I think that may be why you're not getting much info. The cost differential in the US is much smaller, so the economics don't stack up - and that's where most of the members on this forum live. Have a look at these threads on the UK forum:

facelift to 2012 XKRS

5.0 Front end on a 4.2

Would an after market kit that is appealing be an option as well?

I hear ya on that. How many XK's are in Singapore? I saw a lot more Gran Turismo than XK when I was there.
