Default 2012 xkr roof issues

again a flat battery caused the initial problem, the roof was fully closed, the roof button did nothing. I have now managed to fully open the roof manually, disconnected the battery and closed the pump bypass valve. Attempted to now close the roof from the button and all started well and it went through the process however the front of the roof stopped approx 150mm from closed and the locking latches closed leaving the roof open at the front. It appears the roof was jammed fron dropping in to place. I have now gone through the complete process again opening the roof but then tried to close it manually and again the front of the roof will not drop in to place, it appears to be locking at the rear hinge point. the rear of the roof appears to be working fine but the front panel will not drop in to place either manually or automatically.

Two points: 1) When you say a flat battery caused the problem, are you sure the battery is now charged to proper voltage? 2) Are you following the manual top reset procedure in the manual?

If the memory position is lost, you may have to cycle it several times after manually resequencing.

I would not pursue aany mechanical solutions until it can be determined that you are not dealing with a sequence memory problem.

This sounds suspiciously similar to what happened to me not long ago.
Read through my thread below and check for a misalignment in the frame joint.
The link Kj07xk posted at the end of the thread shows how to adjust the alignment.

Hope this helps.

You must perform a window reset (described in the link referenced in the last post by Simon Tan) after a battery disconnect. Not doing this reset is the most common cause of the problem you are describing.
