2012 XKR-S Clear Reflectors Fitted
I know several members have already done this, but I'm not sure if any of the cars have been black, so I thought I'd post mine in case anyone is considering doing this.
The clear reflectors are getting difficult to source, especially for the XKR-S. Jaguar is apparently no longer allowing US dealers to order non-US spec parts. The additional hurdle is that Jaguar requires a VIN be provided as they try to control XKR-S specific parts to prevent clone cars; thus, a Euro VIN must be provided for Euro market parts.
Fortunately, there was one dealer in the US that happened to have one pair of the clear reflectors for the XKR-S in stock. Jaguar NA attempted to prevent a dealer transfer of the parts, but Engel Imports/Terry's Jaguar Parts was able to work around this somehow and make it happen- kudos to them!
It took over 30 emails and several phone calls to get around the red tape.
The installation was simple for the XKR-S, as the reflectors are only glued in. I heated each side for 10min with a hair dryer before prying the amber ones off. The whole process took about 30min.
I've read that it's a more involved process for the XK/XKR as I believe the wheel well liner needs to be removed (there is a thread RE this for those interested on the specifics).
Part numbers for the XKR-S are C2P23241 and C2P23243, and the cost is $49.33/ea.

I want to do the same with my XJS, but I've searched and searched, and it seems nobody has ever made clear ones for it. So I may get creative one of these days and see about having some made.
