Default 2013 "Black"...Or Not?

On my quest for a late model XKR, I found one that the seller (a pre-owned dealer) said was a 2013 with both the "Black" pack and the "Dynamic" pack. Looking at he pictures and comparing them with Thorley's reference book, I think it's a standard XKR with the Takoba wheels painted black. There's also chrome trim around the windows which the pics in the books indicated was blacked out.

Here are two pics; one profile and one close up of a wheel.

Nope, not a dynamic black pack. Actually it's neither a dynamic pack nor black pack. Here's mine for reference:

The black and chrome does look good though.

Absolutely gorgeous! I didn't think it was what they claimed.

I'm assuming yes. It's a 2013. The only other change besides the black pack was an Alcantara steering wheel from the S.

Those are Takoba's so I wonder whether a previous owner changed them because the two standard black pack wheels for a US 2013 XKR are listed as Kalimnos or Vulcan depending on whether the car has the Black Pack or the XKR Dynamic with Black Pack.

I couldn't say for sure, though it may have been different here in the States.

Many thanks! In my opinion, the Dynamic Black pack is as aggressive appearing as you can get without stepping up to an R-S or a GT, and I love it.

I'm kind of cringing as I reread my initial reply to your question though; apologies if I came off as curt or dismissive. Not my intention at all!

Good luck on your search. Dynamic Black packs are a little harder to find, but if you are looking for a something just a little more aggressive and less refined (in a good way), then they are worth the wait. Please let us know when you finally pull the trigger and definitely provide pics!

Other countries had slightly different options which is why I quoted from a US brochure

The Black Pack was a $3,000 option, the Dynamic Pack $6,700 and the Dynamic + Black Pack was $7,800.

Count on it! The real estate deal that was supposed to close this past Monday has been delayed for up to six weeks...once that's in the back than I'll be like Fry with cash... I have my eye on a 2014 Italian Racing Red XKR with the Black Pack, and it looks absolutely stunning. Now I just have to hope that it sits at the back of the lot under a tarp until mid November!

The Black pack side skirts and front splitter were available aftermarket from Mina Galleries in Los Angeles as I added them to my 2010 XKR several years ago after I bought the car. There are a few fitment issues but I liked the way it made the car look as if it had been lowered without actually doing so.
