Nope, that's not the case. The XKR still comes with "fully-active exhaust" as standard. The XK comes with "semi-active exhaust." The "performance active exhaust" is standard on the XKR-S, and is an option on the XKR.

Yas, I was aware of giving up the cooled seats in the Performane seat choice. HoweverI have that option in my Escalade, not only the front seats but the rear too. You know, except for trying to see how the worked, I never use them. The heated seats I do use though. It really is the performance seats are so much nicer than I believe the standard

The Jag's seats are true cooled seats with bulit in thermoelectric devices rather than just ventilated like the newer Caddy's. Caddy's used to have these coolers but the removed them around MY 2005/06. If you haven't tried the Jag's you should, they're the best in the business; just give them about 5 mins and with the ac on.

RJC, I have the PDF of the 2013 guide, and a printed version of the 2012 guide. Neither guide says anything more about the exhaust than what I've posted here. XKR comes standard with the fully-active exhaust, while the XKR-S comes standard with the performance active exhaust, and that same performance exhaust can be chosen as an option on the XKR. The description doesn't mention anything about a performance difference...only a sound difference.

My SD just sent me an email saying there's a less than 2% increase in performance with the new performance exhaust; 10 hp I'd guess.

But then, you live in Canada. Here in steamy Houston not having the cooled seats was a deal killer for me--I absolutely love them on my XJ. I passed on a couple of 2012 XKR's that I could have made a great deal on because they had the performance seats--that's why I had to special order a 2013. Why pay an extra $4K and not be happy.
Now, I do like Black and London Tan combo. It is very classy for cool London. But, Houston?

That makes perfect sense. Yet, you chose an egg-frying Ultimate Black exterior for your XJ for such hot climate. I would think that a heat-reflecting white or silver with a light interior would be the perfect color for Houston. No?

(Nevertheless, I think he chose the Italian Racing Red exterior, with the charcoal interior.)
