2014 xk convertible rooftop not closed
After a ride I closed the rooftop, obviously stopped pushing the closing button too early, small triangle side windows were not closed or at least they were down when entering the car after some hours. Sign 'rooftop not closed' was illuminated. Pushed closing switch, nothing happened. Pushed for opening, nothing happened.
Then tried to make manual re-set as described in owners manual, but as the rooftop was seemingly closed, could not get grip of the rooftop to move it manually.
Wondering if someone knows how to proceed?

Thank you for Tips for pushing close and open switch for longer.
I have now pushed close and alternatively open switch for quite many minutes without any result.
Rooftop is seemingly closed, but wording 'rooftop not closed' remains illumineted.
Rooftop is totally stuck and triangle side windows open.
Any more tips?

Same problem
I have the exact problem with my 1999 XK-8. Warning lights "Convertible top not latched". Took her to dealer and after 3 weeks and nearly $800 told me it was the Security Locking Module and that the part was no longer available from Jaguar. They took two more days to "try to find a replacement" but to no avail. They were however, able to raise my rear windows so at least I can wash her again.

JykiT, I re-read your original post and I may be mistaken but the way I read it, you tried to perform the manual reset but could not complete it because the windshield latches were set. Use the Allen wrench you use to release the pressure at the pump to hand crank the windshield latches to their open position. Then continue the manual reset as outlined in the manual.

Jykit, there is a hole in the convertible top head liner, centered up near the windshield header. The cover is removed in the pictures, to get the cover off, use a plastic trim tool on one end of the oval cover to pry it loose. The Allen wrench is located above the fuse panel between the rear seats. First use the Allen wrench to release the pressure on the hydraulic pump, no more than two turns. Then use the same Allen wrench in the hole in the headliner to release the windshield header latches. You can only see them when they are in the released position. With your hand, push up on the headliner next to the opening while you turn the wrench. That way you will know when the latches are completely released. Once the latches are released, follow the instructions in the owners manual to perform the reset procedure.
