Default 2015 xkr convertible takoba wheels.

Got a new 2015 xkr convertible. Have to start the upgrade process and have started with the Eurocharged ecm flash and pulley and want to powdercoat the wheels. The color is ultimate black. It has a light gray and dark grey metallic.powder vinyl sticker that's say xkr on it and was thinking about powder coating the wheels the darker of the 2 colors. Please take a look at the color and let me know what you think. If you like another color better it will not hurt my feelings. Thanks in advance.

Jeff

I would remove the XKR sticker and leave the wheels as-is.

Taste is totally personal and subjective. One man's meat is another man's poison. Just my

I am the same, not a fan of the XKR add-on sticker. For me just to reminiscent of old time Camaro...I like the rims in the color they are now.

Our vehicles upgrades must be conducted tastefully so not a huge fan of sticker I'm with Stuart on this one and sorry i do prefer the wheels in the silver I think when getting them powder coated in black it takes away from the overall exterior color of the vehicle but each to their own regardless of what you chose to do it's still a beautiful car

carmannn,
While I agree with the others on the XKR Sticker (it should go away), I had my 20" Kalimnos painted black when I first got my car. I hadn't planned on it, but having 3 Jags in my collection, i know how much brake dust they shed, and as on my 2002 XKR vert, I got used to cleaning them everyday! When I first got the 2010 XKR the wheels had some curb rash and after having them repaired, I decided at the last minute to change them to black, figuring that after a day of driving they would look matte black instead of the gloss black when they're clean. At least then I could clean them every other day. I've attached some pictures. I've also considered having them painted metallic gunmetal grey, you might consider that, as well.

By the way, how do you like the Eurocharged Tune and pulley, do you notice a lot of difference? Would you recommend?

What other mods are you planning?

Tberg on any other color especially the lighter shades ie white , silver etc I would go black gloss 100% I think the contrasting between the vehicle paint and wheels looks unreal but never been a fan of black / black wheels

steve,
The truth is I don't like black wheels either, it was purely a last minute impulse decision that was made with maintenance in mind. Even after a year and a half, I am still trying to warm up to them.

I am considering going with black on my rims, not quite yet as I really like the car the way it is right now. I don't like the black on black look, I guess I am old school and like contrast. A black car with silver rims looks great, so I am thinking my silver car with black rims will look good. I think yours looks great by the way.
