Default 4.2L supercharged underbody protective covers

Hi All,

Does anyone have pictures or diagrams of what under trays should be attached to the bottom of a 4.2L XKR?

Thanks.

There are just 2, the one under the engine and the one under the steering gear and transmission.

The cover underneath my 4.2 XKR barely covers the steering rack and definitely does not cover the transmission. Whereas 5 liter cars seem to have an extended undertray that covers more.

Of course there’s always the possibility that something previously fell off on my car, but consulting the “world’s best repository of detailed pictures of sometimes obscure cars” aka Bringatrailer’s completed auctions listings (lol), it would appear that my car looks exactly like several other 4.2s that I checked.

As alluded to in my previous post, search the completed auctions on bringatrailer.com for “XKR”.

The OP only asked what panels are supposed to be in place and the answer is 2 more than, no less than 2. As for that they cover the OP didn’t ask but I reckon what the cover, like anything else, can be a matter of opinion.

But yes, there are many pics of 4.2 X150 bellies to be found through searches. I have some of mine somewhere if I can find them.

If I am understanding correctly. It looks like there should only be 2. See below.

Very Interesting! JaguarXKR thanks for originating this thread...especially for posting the photo. Mine doesn't have one either. It looks like it would need to be removed to access the oil drain plug as well as oil filter. Previous owner must have left it off.

The same 2 undertrays on the 4.2 litre looking from the middle towards the front of the vehicle.

The rear one has to be removed access the oil drain plug.
