I recently picked up a brand new under tray (the one with all the padding that covers the sump etc) as I was missing my old one. With a bit of crawling around on my garage floor I've managed to get 6 items fastening them. This is the front two holes that sit under the radiator undertray, the middle section which has two studs, and the rear outer holes which thread into the subframe. I feel like I'm missing some spots on the rear as the tray can flap a bit at the rear centre and would rattle against the subframe there while driving. It seems that I'm missing a mounting but there's noting in the centre that a clip would attach to, and being right by the gearbox there's nothing obvious.
Does anyone with a 5.0 have any pictures of the back side of the under tray and might be able to shed some light on what I might be missing here? I've attached the relevant parts diagram (which isn't much help) and a few shots of the holes which I don't have fasteners on + my current situation under the car.
Aaaand I think I've just answered my own question. Looks like there is only 6 fittings for my vin at least. The parts diagram shows a 'block' which I think is foam or something similar that must stop the under tray from rattling against the subframe. So think I can do the same with some thick foam tape. Here's the workshop manual showing the fixing points.
