Passenger seat unresponsive
hi everyone,
after having my roof renewed and the car cmopletely detailed - the passenger seat is unresponsive. I cannot move it forward, backward tilt it whatever.. In the SDD I get a PSM B1087 LIN bus A persistent DTC (Fault type 87) "bus signal message failure - missing a message code"
It aligns with other codes at the same mileage but those are "intermittent"
U3000-55 FACP Control module
U0140-00 FACP Lost communication with body control module
U0156-00 FACP Lost communication with information center A
U3000-87 FACP Control module
B0061-64 RCM Passenger's safety belt tension sensor
In the extra's tab i can configure an existing control module, but it only shows the drivers seat.. not the passengers seat..
I have the standard seats, and already checked all fuses (all ok) in the middle of the rear seats..
any ideas what to do? - remove the whole seat to check for wire damage, disconnect battery for a minute or so? or any other diagnosis I can do?

Its a known issue @Parzival . The seat needs to be recalibrated with SDD or equivalent.
just run the calibration from the service functions? and any recommendations how scary this all is?

I had the issue a few years back and I researched and determined how to resolve it. I explained it to the dealer and they did it for me. They originally recommended replacing the entire seat.
"9 times out of ten", no need to replace the module, let alone the entire seat. Any dealer that responded that way probably does not have much experience at even just looking at the knowledge base, or the resulting "TSBs".
ran the passenger seat calibration and that all worked.. the seat moved back and down and all was clear... once done it read the other error codes.. still fired one.. and the seat still does not move.. I see no new DTC's..
so i thought lets grab the electrical diagrams and check those.. there is only power and a LINbus going to the seat.. so I thought.. wait.. lets start at the start.. i removed the door panel.. and lo and behold...
(who can guess now)..
the car reconditioner forgot to put a plug back..
all working again
