Default 5.0L engine block question

So I've just returned from an Audi event (Yes the plucky Brit had to ask most to get out of it way...) but encountered an interesting comparison when talking about motors that I wanted to ask about here.
Like Jag, Audi has done away with the dipstick and gone electronic, but what they discovered was that the hole in the block was still present, just capped off.
Many have simply gone back and purchased the stick and oil tube, and re-attached it. It appears fully functional. ingenious...

So the question is directed at those that know the 5.0L block casting. Has any vehicle using this casting ever had a dipstick at one point in its life?

I am familiar with the Audi A4 as my kid has a 2015. It is his 3rd A4 and the last 2 had the E_dip stick. I had also purchased an aftermarket dip stick that goes in the hole they have in order to suck out the oil during the oil change. No back to the 5.0L which is a new block and it was designed without a dip stick oil drain hole. As those who have the 5.0 know the oil suction tube is part of the oil fill cap. I also tried to insert a thin flexible wire into this tube but the design won't allow you to go to the bottom of the sump. When I looked in the service manual I see why as the tube takes a few extremely sharp turns near the bottom so you can't get a wire down to the bottom yet the tube goes to the lowest point of the sump so you remove all of the oil. So the net is , the design doesn't allow for an external tube or hole that you can insert a conventional dip stick into.

Where is the origin of the 5.0 block? Is it JLR cast, or imported?

The engines in the XK, 4.2 and 5 litre, are entirely Jaguar-designed.
