Bklynchris.....What is left on your factory warranty? Are you planning on getting an extended warranty?

I don't think I've checked the tire pressure or any of the fluids in the last 30 days!! Maybe not even in 60 or 90 days!

The actual factory warranty expires this month, but the car is a select edition so it will have an additional 2 years afterwards.

Great! You will be in good shape. I assume that means you have a CPO car.

Nope. The service dept. told me their loaners are not insured for out of state therefor I have a crappy Chevy Malibu. It's probably not a bad car, just no where near a XKR. I guess I'm spoiled.

I meant your XKR is a CPO (Certified Pre Owned) which gives an additional 2 years over the factory warranty.

Oops, I misunderstood. Yes, mines is CPO. The original factory warranty expires this month.

Just an update guys. I opened a case with Jaguar on Friday. I didn't ask for any reimbursement for extended hotel stays, etc. I informed them that the service dept has told me for a week that I might have head or head gasket damage. They claim they started tearing down my engine this past Wednesday, but that's all the progress they've made. Also, I'm not getting the updates I've requested. They have never responded to any emails and when I call, I have to have the receptionist page the service manager because neither he nor his assistant ever return my calls. I told Jaguar I don't want to be a pain in the rear end, I just want my car fixed. Jaguar did ask, more than once, if this was a warrantied repair to which I stated yes. Hopefully the service dept. will pay a little more attention to my car now that I have a case with JaguarUSA.

How exactly did you get your case started? Did you call JaguarUSA?

Default water pump replace

Just had a new water pump put in my 2010 XK with 45,000 miles. Ordered from England to get newest design. Dealer in Tucson did a fantastic job as always and no charge to me. Best dealer I've ever worked with.

Starting a paper trail is always a good idea especially with the extensive work you are having done on your car.

This thread reminds me of the time I was riding with my Dad--I was between 10-14 at the time--in the middle of the night, in rural Southeast Colorado 90 miles from nowhere, when the car overheated. Roadside assistance? Ha Ha Ha! Cell phone? Never heard of one. Those were the days when dialing a phone really meant dialing a phone! Dad would drive for a few minutes and shut the car off, drive for a few and shut the car off. Luckily a state patrol happened by and pulled us over for driving without headlights (Dad didn't want to kill the battery) and somehow we made it to the nearest little cow-town that must have had a motel and a tow truck. Good times. I should call him tomorrow for Father's Day and see if he remembers that.

Anyway BklynChris, you're making memories. (Can't put a price on that!)

Thats great to hear! The dealer in Scottsdale isn't on my best friend list. They've tried to "sucker" me out of quite a bit of money over the years. Do you recommend anyone in particular there?

That is true....as frustrating as it may be. I usually have a pretty good attitude about things
