Default About to get hammered by snow here...

We're going to get maybe 4-6" of snow (which is debilitating for DC, and indeed my XKR) here. While I wait for it to start coming down, I found this video of an XKR-S in the snow! Whose is it!?

XK playing in the snow:

Crap! Send some of that to the west coast! We have so little mountain snow right now half our ski areas opened a month late and are trying to cope with minimal depth!

I have a view of the Olympic mountain range (about 8000' peaks) from my home and they are normally pure white with snow-pack this time of year. Instead they are bare and we are already talking drought...grrrrrr

This summer is gonna be a nightmare in insects that normally get killed off each winter!

Scary winter.......

Yeah both my cars were washed yesterday and are now tucked in the garage .... with the crazy amount of salt on the road already I doubt they will come out this coming weekend either.

Water wells are already starting to run dry around my Central CA location and it is still winter (rainy season). I am seriously looking at purchasing some large water storage tanks in case of our well runs out. It has been 80F+ every day at my place for the past week, perfect for top-down driving but, potentially catastrophic for CA's water outlook.

Probably a smart call.... Was in NorCal back in early December. Saw Lake Mendocino bone dry with a creek running through it... California is gonna burn big time this summer.

Hmmm, I guess the lesson here is never drop your car off at a dealership for service during a snow event.

For those of you who lack the backbone ;-), the xkr handles perfectly in the snow!
Of course, snow tires are a must (I use the 19 inch rims from the XJR). and turn that darned traction control completely off.

It was -20 C this morning in Ottawa.

Now if I could only sort a roof rack for my skis...
Cheers to all!

Haha, maybe we have some members from Finland!

I wonder how many XKR-S exist in Finland.

Car handles fine, just can't close the door when it's really cold out.

Second vid is Austria ("A" in blue section of plate) and the third is a UK car, probably a Jag fleet car from its OV prefix (OV=Coventry), though it was filmed somewhere in Scandawegia.

Here's a optic view of what's happening in the US. While we, in the North East, are freezing our brass parts off, the West Coast is burning. Although their temps look great now, I wouldn't want to be driving my Jag through the fires that will no doubt, be in abundance this summer. Crazy weather.

Everyone predicts high fire danger if the drought continues in CA. But, at least at my Central CA location since we have not had any rains, the weeds have not even started to sprout. Usually it is the tall grass and weeds that grow like crazy in rainy season that turn tinder dry during the summer and represents the fire danger. Since nothing is growing, there is not much to burn.

Albert, I hope that's the case. I've had good friends lose everything in previous years' fires. We have completely different problems here in the East.

Best of luck in the months to come. I hope that drought ends soon.
