XKR 09
never did better than 17 mpg combined.... worse was 11 mpg (heavy foot and city)... biggest problem was that the sport exhaust was so intoxicating that I just could not let be giving it a bit extra stick

Just purchased a 2006 XK Convertable with 30,000 Miles on the clock.Driving it Home from London toNottingham I managed 35MPG driving not more than 70 MPH with cruise engaged. On a country run today of around 45 miles the computer is showing 28MPG so I am very pleased as this is better than my Daimler 2.5 V8 Saloon.Around town the computer has shown just under 20 MPG on the XK so no complaints so far apart from the £500 Road Fund License.

Default just checked it

drove from Nashville to Dallas to trade my 2008 XK and drove my newish 2011 XKR back home
750 miles each was, mostly highway, averaged 75-83 mph (Texas max speed limit is 75)

averaged almost 27 mpg in the xk, 23 in the xkr. I did use cruise control a lot.
I was pretty gentle with the XK on the way there, not so much with the XKR on the way back..........

Amen Brother...... only complaint I have about my coupe vs the convertible I had last is I can't hear how awesome the car sounds at times..... my wife keeps telling me to roll the windows back up!

Default Honeymoon period...

I've had my 2000 XKR for three months, and I'm still amazed by it.

Maybe it's the supercharger but, if I'm on a motorway journey and hit 70mph, I start to notice the increase in range. The first time it happened I thought something was wrong but, after talking to friends with their own XKRs, it seems quite normal to go from say, 300 miles around town (full tank) to 400 miles plus when I open her up.

To say I'm delighted is an understatement!

Sorry, sun has popped out, need to get the roof down and drive somewhere....anywhere....!
