Adaptive Headlight warning light
According to the owner's manual, the lights, ALFS module, is fed speed and steering angle inputs which cause the lights to sweep in the direction of a bend in the road to provide better lighting. No mention of self leveling. But, the service manual also mentions a level sensor that appears to be attached to a rear upper control arm.
Easiest way to tell is turn to the lights on in a dark area or garage or start the car if the lights are in Auto. You should see the lights move - sweep or dance as I call it. Happens every time the lights come on if you have the feature. Just something else to break IMO. And they appear to.

Certainly makes more sense to be at the front, but wouldn't surprise me if Jaguar WIFi'ed it from the rear. Every time I try to post an image from the manual showing it at the rear, this website crashes whatever browser I'm trying to use. Shuts down Firefox and Brave. Just look for headlights in the service manual.

Okay, yeah, my terminology was wrong. Kid's 2007 only had the front one that I noticed, and it was all bent up. I didn't look for a rear one since bending the front bracket fixed everything.

Makes sense to me.
Luv2fly, Assuming an owner has automatic self aiming lights, there is a level sensor in the front, on the right, and one in the back. Look closely at the right front suspension. If it's not there, someone took it off. If it's not working, your lights will not complete their reset function. They get screwed up when the suspension assy stretches down, perhaps by, for example, replacing a strut. The the (using the tem loosely) mechanic pushes up the suspension and the sensor arm gets bent backwards, or the arm gets ripped off.

Thanks. My lights work fine. I was just trying to answer questions from @justinhill and @myexcursion about how they worked and how to know if you had them.
