Alooooha from Thomas in Hawaii! I just snagged a 2009 XKR Portfolio convertible for 29K and am so happy!

Love the car but hate the head unit! Is it possible to upgrade or install a newer Jag head unit so I wont lose the heated seat and climate controls?

I'd love a backup camera, and Bluetooth streaming.

Thanks!
Thomas

Welcome aboard. You are in for a series of treats with your new xk. Suggest you examine the forum closely as you will find threads dealing with each one of the issues you raised. As a matter of fact you will find the forum and its participants to be full of all kinds of information regarding your new ride and more than willing to offer a helping had when that is called for.

Welcome aboard and enjoy the form.
So far no one has attempted to change out the head unit on this form but maybe somewhere else. It looks like a pretty difficult thing to do but I guess with money something could be done. As fare as the backup camera there is discussion here but it hasn't been done yet but there are talks of doing this in the future. Same with BT streaming. No breakthrough's yet. So enjoy the group and good like with your new ride.

Completely changing out the headunit is not practical due to the level of integration with the systems in the car.

I am far along enough now on this product to state there will be an fully integrated rear camera kit available soon (probably in the summer).

Does your car have an audio and iPod jack in the center console or glovebox? If so, it has the Audio Connectivity Module (ACM) from Jaguar. If not, they can be added by your dealer, or yourself if you are handy. If you couple that with a 3rd party Bluetooth streaming adapter, you will be able to stream from your phone.

Don't be too quick to bite!

As you can imagine, there's a fair few topics that come up frequently, and answering them over & over gets a little wearing on the regular contributors. If you'd already looked & found nothing, fair enough - for new members, it's normal to be gently reminded of the search function if it hasn't been mentioned.
