I misread your post. You were speaking about the DSP. I was talking about a analog crossover. The driver itself acts like a crossover, particularly in the footwell. High frequencies are extremely directional.
And what manufacturer is that? You may PM me if you prefer, one of my many sources of income is from over 20 years in pro & CE audio design & integration...

Smallish world. We are a top-tier manufacturer. High performance, consumer only. Pro doesnt care about performance as much.

i think this is all getting a tad complex for my liking lol. i think i may just throw in a powered sub (bazooka, etc.) and call it a day. i'm only keeping this car for another year maxn any way, so i can then just remove the powered sub and sell it. WAY easier!

on that note....would i grab the signal for the powered sub off of the head unit? or, would there be an easier route to take?

tnx!

You won't get it from the head unit as this is a MOST system, with digital signal going through a DSP and then digital to the amps. Your best bet would be to get it from the line level signal at the driver. Your new power sub maybe able to take this directly or you may need a speaker level to line level adapter, found all over the net.

If it's a 6 1/2" you can try one I've had experience with, and has 11.5mm of excursion, 35Hz free air.

Tang Band W6-1139SIF 6-1/2" Paper Cone Subwoofer Speaker

13mm excursion with Neodymium, 38Hz free air.

Tang Band W6-1139SI 6-1/2" Subwoofer

The compliance on these work well with 50W RMS.
