Default Any way to get the creases out of the ragtop?

I have some minor creases in the fabric top, just to the rear of the back window (driver's side only). When I had my 911, I always put the top up when not driving the car and never had issues with creasing. My suspicion is that the previous owner left the top in the down position for long periods of time.

Any suggestions on how I might go about removing the creases?

You can get a nice steamer for garments for 200 bucks... many for less!

Be very careful with a steamer. You don't want the rear glass delaminating from the fabric as happens sometimes with these tops.

My 08 with a black top showed lots of creases and they got worse over time with more use. I never left the car with top down for extended time periods (no more than 6-8 hours). My 12 with a canvas colored top shows a few creases when the top is first put back up but then over time the creases decrease ending up with hardly any showing at all. I attribute this to: 1. Maybe a change in fabric 2. color of top or a combination of the two. Someitmes I will leave the top down in my garage overnight; but usually no longer than that.

Honestly, at some point, your car is going to develop a patina. Embrace it! Fighting it is a losing battle.

I would be concerned if a hole developed or the top started falling to pieces. But a few wrinkles is just part of the charm of a car that isn't brand new!

I was nutty about this on my 2002 m3 vert and now I just live with it. it is part of owning a vert. think of it like nice leather dress shoes. you take care of them but of course you expect creases. nothing you can do. all verts have em
