Anybody deal with any key fob issues

Default Anybody deal with any key fob issues

Went to start my car this morning and the god damn key fob wouldn't work. at first i was wondering if i left the lights on, but then i go to open the door with the emergency key the alarm goes off. all the while, the key fob still isn't working. i got to stick it in the slot under the armrest and still nothin, so what do you all think? The fob was working just fine last night

Do the easy thing first, replace the batteries in the fob.

the weird thing is i replaced the battery probably 2 months ago

and with a new smart key back. theres a bulletin about the original housing not always holding the battery tightly in the housing. GOD BLESS YOU

Thanks for this. So it sounds like I have to get my car towed, because now the battery has died and I need to purchase a new key fob. That sucks :-(

I dont know why the fob would have died. Its not common, did you drop it in a jack n coke
but yes when you stick in the docking station it reads the key directly regardless of a good smart key battery or not. Was that your only smart key??

I bought a couple fobs off Ebay for a different car like a later XF. I swapped the electronics of mine into the new one and fixed the loose battery.
