Anyone have any Automotive New Years Resolutions?

Thank you all for your kind comments. I haven't had a chance to take too many pictures yet but will add a few that my son took last weekend. Tomorrow, if the weather cooperates, I'll take an early morning run through Malibu Canyon out to Malibu Cars and Coffee. I went for the first time ever before Christmas with forum member Ralphwg, only three cars showed up, so we were a little disappointed. But we went to breakfast down the road where a caravan of Ferraris, Lambos, McClarens, Porsches, and Corvettes had convened. Both Ralph's beautiful XKR convertible and my Pantera looked right at home with the other exotics.

Sean,
I'm assuming the "Beautiful car" compliment was aimed at the Pantera not the Delorean. The Pantera is a decade older, but I still think much more attractive, and certainly there was no comparison in terms of performance. However, the Pantera did not have a flux capacitor option as did the Delorean.
Thanks again.

jagtoes,
I think the Mangusta is an extraordinarily gorgeous automobile, not a greatly engineered one but beautiful nonetheless. And I'd love to have one but with their rarity (only 401 ever produced with less than 250 still rolling as opposed to the Pantera which had over 7200 examples made over a 21 year run) comes exclusivity and high prices. Decent Mangustas are trading at $350,000.00 and up while beaters are $250,000.00 and require a lot of work and money. These numbers insure that I'll never own one. Fortunately,Panteras have drastically increased their value in the last five years, so that for the first time since I bought the car about 15 years ago, I'm no longer "upside down." Wouldn't matter if I was as I've never bought a car as an investment, yet. I bought them to drive. Of the wedge designs, I think the Pantera was the "cleanest," most attractive with the later Countach being the worst and ugliest example. It has long mystified me as to how Lamborghini could produce the exotically sensual Miura in the 1960s and then produce all of the other crap ever since. Each new model gets uglier.
Obviously, I have a hankering for Jaguar design, as well, having an X100 and its obvious ties to the heritage of the E-type, and my X150 with its handsome bodywork and terrific performance.

I like the early C4 seats in your Pantera! I owned an 87 Corvette Convertible and the sport seats and belts were one of the parts I REALLY loved. The side bolsters, thigh bolsters, lumbar were all great for keep me in the seat solid; and the locking button for the lap belt made the seat hold you even more. The leather was crap from the factory, not that it matters now since everyone has had to do like you and reupholster. That seat system is actually the bar I hold road car seats to; it really was quite good.

Hi Ralph,
I ended up not going because some of the canyon roads were closed due to mudslides and I just didn't want to take a chance that I'd get halfway through the canyon and then I have to turn back and I had an appointment at our office building at 11 a.m. Woodland Hillls. Maybe next month as I can't go to the one in 2 weeks. I'll be in touch
