Default Anyone upgraded to larger intake tubes on dual setup of XKR?

So by looking at the intake pipes on the dual setup of the XKR
especially at the squished portion of the pipes, I thought intake would be a little restrictive.
I conducted a test with a vacuum instrument. Plugged it in on drivers side intake tube where the crankcase ventilation is connected. Ran at full throttle and came up with 20 inches of water vacuum at max Wot. Now Im not exactly sure how that translates into entire system vacuum if I actaully make a conection at the throttle body, but either way curretn intake is restrictive and there is definitely room for improvement
Im thinking to at least get the squished portion replaced with a round tube of some sort

Anyone have relevant info as to intake upgrade for this setup?

How are your air filters? New? Clean?

The dual intake of the X150 XKR is pretty much 50% bigger overall vs. the intakes on the earlier 4.2 cars so i'd be surprised if it was really that much of a restriction...

New Wix filters unless they are defective..Do have old filters as well..
20 inches on one intake side possibly means up to 40 inches of water total restrictions. 28 inches is 1psi boost, at 40 is 1.5psi boost lost...

There is a guy in the forum, I don't know which post, who made a custom stainless set of intake tubes. Larger diameter and mandrel bends without the pinches. It's been at least a year since I saw it though.

Wow, now that is an intake. Looks like they used dryer duct.

What in the world are those things on the left and right of the intake tubes in the front of the strut towers? Some type of boost?

Well, there is no hood on this car. I wonder if they are making a new one for this car, looks like it has some type of sponsor on the front so who knows what is being done.

That blue car is one of the Apex GT3's... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/m...ing-car-95277/

There was another intake design for the GT3 as well...

Anyone upgraded to larger intake tubes on dual setup of XKR?-00_focus_xkr_4.jpg

There was another version of this with the box section made in carbon fibre.

Google images for Jaguar XKR GT3 you might find it.

EDIT ah yeah, it's in the link I posted above LOL

EDIT AGAIN, beaten by jahummer hahaha

There you go , knock off wheels. Don't necessarily like the design but all the same they are knock off's. I'll have to see if I can track down the mfg.

Did not realize that was what you were after. Yes those would be very nice. I believe there are adapter kits available (for the hubs, not the wheels), certainly would be nice for track days.

Ah, I remember that, especially because the OP was doing a number of mods that interested me. Just need to find a way to get more room between the hood and the inter coolers or across the coil covers, etc.

Getting to the duckbill would still be difficult, but wait! There's probably no air-con in this car anyway, so no issue!
