Wink Auxiliary drive belt - how to access?

I want to check the auxiliary drive belt on my 2007 XK with 158k Km on it. I have virtually no service info from the previous owner so, amongst other things, I am thinking about a change of belt if necessary. Do I have to remove the whole of the front (bumper) to get to the belt or is there an easier way? I can't see anything from above nor can I find any info on the forum or in the manual so it must be easy..............😉 Any advice gratefully received.

Our 2006 XK 4.2 was the most difficult belt I have ever had to change. There is no need to remove the bumper unless you are prepared to remove the radiator and depressurise/refill the a/c system as it doesn't help otherwise. You do need to remove the intake pipework from across the top front of the engine and it is much easier if you unscrew and remove the oil filter but you don't have to drain the oil out to do this.

I've posted a previous thread on this which I will try and find now.

Default Belt inspection & change

RichardS - I posted my original request because I could find little under auxiliary drive belt on the forum but later looked up the classic Jaguar site in search of the belt which they also call the engine drive belt. A search of the forum with that name turned up your post which I found very informative but slightly horrifying in its complexity. I think I'm going to turn that job over to the local indy mechanic. It's strange that the Jaguar "Maintenance Check Sheet" mentions the belt in such nonchalant terms "Check accessory drive belt tension wear indicator(s) - replace belt(s) if necessary," all as if it were a small service item and to be performed every 10k miles at that.
Anyway thanks for the detailed instructions.
