Back up camera
Does the back up camera come standard with the nav. or is it an option. Also do all years have the front and back sensors. Was there a specific year where all of these features come as stand offerings.
The backup camera came as a standard item on my 2012 NA vert. I don't know if it was added in 2010 or 2011. But it was definitely a standard item for 2012. As far as I know the navigation system is standard on all XKs and XKRs from at least 2007 on.
You can economically do an aftermarket rear-view mirror backup camera now.
WhiteXKR is working on a backup cam in the touchscreen but it will be a while before he will have it completed. For details search for "backup camera retrofit". Sorry I couldn't post the link - I'm replying from my cellphone.
Back at my PC now, and here's the link: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-models-62443/

If you use the aftermarket option, you forfeit your dimming side mirrors.

Interesting...
The Owners Manual for my 2009 XKR says that the interior rear view mirror is auto-dimming, but says nothing about the door mirrors also being auto-dimming. I was curious and decided to check the manuals for other model years (US Models).
The 2007 X150 Owners Manual says: "Both electrochromic door mirrors are adjusted from the driver's door switchpack." I didn't know what electrochromic meant, so I looked it up. Simply, it means that it is a special type of glass that can change opacity with an electric current. So 2007 models have auto-dimming door mirrors as standard equipment.
I also looked up the online 2008 manual and there was no reference to electrochromic mirrors. Same for 2009 models. I didn't take the time to check later model years.
It appears that Jaguar discontinued auto-dimming door mirrors after 2007.

2009 - Exterior, powerfolding electrochromatic door mirrors, power adjustable and heated with memory function.
2010 - Heated exterior mirrors with electric adjustment, power-folding with auto-powerfold on locking vehicle, auto-dimming and memory function with integrated LED side repeaters and approach lamps
Mine is a 2008. It does appear that at night, they dim. There are definately wires going into the back of the glass, but I also read in my manual that they are heated too, which is just what I need in the depths of winter here in Phoenix, as it can sometimes even get as cold as to need more than a T shirt :-) I do wish I had AC'd seats instead of heated ones though!!!
Easiest way to test is to take a piece of black electrical tape and cover the light sensor on the front/forward side of your interior mirror. With this sensor blacked out it forces your mirrors into "full dim".
I actually keep small piece of e-tape stuck near there to use when I have idiots riding my bumper with high beams on. I just quickly cover the sensor for a little extra eye comfort.

Prior to the 2010 models, we got a single rear fog light, and the other is the backup light. You get told about your "burnt out backup light" all the time.
The 2010+ models got dual rear fogs, and Muddy, help me out here, do you have dual backup lights too?

Its the fog light. The 'glass' is white but the bulb itself is red so it appears white when off but actually lights up red.
