Barrett-Jackson XKR Sold
Just wanted to highlight the sale of a 2011 XKR175 Coupe (stock with exception of aftermarket wheels - it appears) on the block last night in Scottsdale.
Total price - with premiums = $59,400.00 (hammer price was $55,000).
2011 JAGUAR XKR - 201632
Strong money to be sure.

To some (like me) the rarity of a certain Special Edition has no bearing on price. It'd have to stand on its own merits. There are a few niceties in the 175, but $20,000 worth? Not hardly.
I'd LOVE for all XKs to increase wildly in value, but I don't think that day is coming any time soon.

Some auction bidders let their egos overcome their brains when competing with other bidders. The "I won't let you beat me" syndrome is the best thing that ever happens to a seller.
and here's one for 20k less!

I wish I knew who this dude was who bought that car, I should buy the one in Pensacola, clean it up real nice, paint the rims black and sell it to him for $20k profit.

Gotta remember, auctions like B-J command higher prices for car than one might think. There is an excitement level that gets people competitive and bidding wars start. The commission for the seller and buyer is nothing to sneeze at either. There are bargains, at times, but in my hours of watching the trend is that most over pay.
I missed B-J Northeast last year at Mohegan Sun (CT), but plan to go this June. Too early for me to sell my Jag, but may place it in the auction in 2018. By then it will be a 55K mile 08 XKR. Feel free to fantasy bid...

That's no surprise. Barret-Jackson cars are often overpriced due to the bidding war frenzy, just like ebay bidding on hot items that I have witnessed over and over.
I just saw a low-mileage XKR175 on cars.com recently for $45k.
