Question Battery charging question?

It is winter here in New Zealand and I don't get to drive my Jag as often as I would like so I was thinking about charging my battery with a battery charger. Normally for my other cars I just connect up the cables, switch on and that's it no need for even disconnection the battery from the car.
Now I have heard a thing or two about the Jag's electrical system being temperamental and wanted to know if it is ok to connect the charger to the battery without disconnecting the battery from the car?

I see you have a 2010 XK so the way I would charge it is by using the terminals provided and not directly on the battery unless you disconnect it. Use the positive terminal behind the plastic grill on the left side of the boot. Attach the negative terminal on the stud located in the spare tire location. If you are using a small charger like a 10 or 15 amp charger this should not be a problem. Just make sure you don't overcharge . The easiest way is to use a smart charger so you don't need to be concerned about overcharging.

The Jag's electrical system is not temperamental in the least; it simply likes/needs to have full battery voltage to properly supply all the electronic modules. The very best thing you can do for the XK and yourself in this regard is to fit a good - and I stress that word - battery maintainer and leave it plugged in all winter. The battery will be kept in perfect condition, the Jaguar will be very happy, and you will have no worries. The preferred brand is the Swedish CTEK. I use them as described and as a result I have never had an electrical issue with any of my cars.
