Ok guys....I've read several posts on this subject, but nothing has helped. I have a 2010 XKR, battery made in May '18. Never had any problems. I suspect my son left a door ajar and two days later, car is dead. I tried jumping it off, both on direct battery posts and the jump posts in the trunk. Nothing. So now I'm charging on a 10a charger. But in the meantime, a msg came up to remove key fob from the docking station, but it won't budge. I tried forcing it some, and the removeable blade came out. So......will the docking station eject the fob one the battery is charged? I live about 100 miles away from Jag dealer, so I don't want to have it towed $$$. Please advise.
Well, I got it charged but still would not eject when pushed. Jag service thinks it was stuck or misaligned. So I got out the pliers.....and got it out. The key fob is FUBAR, so wonder if I could order a cheap replacement Jag fob off Amazon and transfer the circuit board to the new fob???
Cheap enough at $16.95 delivered for Prime members to give it a try. If it doesn't work, you can return it for a full refund. Includes everything you need and fast delivery.
Yes I just ordered one. I hope it fits and will eject as normal. I hope I didn't screw up the starter control module (smart key dock). Those are $400 or so.
I had my Fob stuck once, at least I THOUGHT I did. It wouldn't come out no matter what..... until I made sure the car was turned off and I opened the door. A slight push and it popped right up!
