Well I would just make the change and not worry about it. Then go back and tell the dealer guy you did it and if something happens it's on him , hahahaha.

 

The Green to Amber back & forth on the CTEK 3300 is normal. Unfortunately, the 3300 only shows the Green or Amber, there are no additional LED's like found on the MUS 4.3.

Many CTEK 3300 owners are replacing their 3300's with the MUS 4.3. Even the MUS 4.3 will turn amber to green and back & forth. Any type of draw on the electrical system will make the CTEK change charging stages.

The CTEK MUS 4.3 (Multi US) has 8 stages of charging. I would suggest with the small expense, step up to the one of CTEK's latest unit.

I have 5 CTEK SmartChargers working all the time. I never have any battery issues with any of my 5 vehicles.

 

Will do. It's the next thing on my to do list. Have my Lexus hooked up to the CTEK 3300 and it's doing the tennis thingy now going back and forth from amber to green.

 

Thanks for all the feed back. I replaced the battery and could not take the chance of the car not starting. I attached a spare battery to the cables (so never lost power) and replaced the battery. Dealer wanted $475.00 I did it for $155.00 did not want to pay that $147.50 an hr rate. Did finally track down a Jaguar fixing guy not working for the local dealer. He did work for Jaguar for 16 years before he went out on his own, He did say the 2010 XKR is real good and the 5.0 did not have any real problems. He said the dealers have to do un-nessary things to cover there over head. Him and his son are running his Import shop.
