Default Best Interior Trim Combination

Ok, so I have $1k in Jag gift certificates to spend and have decided I want to make my interior more sporty. My XKR is black on burl walnut. Here are my options:

1) Braided Aluminum kit - total $925 (includes the window switches)

2) Black Piano ala carte (no kit) - $394 around navigation, $325 for ash tray door, $327 for around shifter, $433 for strip above glove box, $433 for part under speedo cluster - total $1,912 (no window switches)

3) Engine Spun Aluminim ala carte (no kit) - this looks better than the braided to me. $91 part under speedo cluster, $400 strip above glove box, $300 both window switches - total $791 (no center parts however. So I would do this in Piano $394 around navigation, $325 for ash tray door, $327 around shifter) grand total $1,837

Do you guys think Option #3 would look the best? Is the Engine Spun that much better looking? Also what do you think if I just did the glove box, speedo cluster and windows and left the center wood for a bit of luxury?

It seems the only way to loose all wood and stay under $1k would be to do the braided kit... I'm on the fence for that one. Piano and spun seems like it would look downright Pagani-ish!

I guess another option would be to just do the piano in the middle and keep wood elsewhere... like this:

I am not digging the braided kit, looks fake. Piano black or wood are the most befitting a Jag IMO.

Hey Evoking,

I think that the piano middle and the spun glove, instrument and door parts would look awesome.

As for the painted parts I've had them for 9 months, no problems, just wipe with a clean microfiber. There is a clear coat on top and of course the quality of the painter plays a role as well.

Interesting... It looks like the piano. Only thing is that I'm not spending real $ - they are Jag Gift Certificates. So if I paint myself then I AM spending $. Perhaps I get the Engine Spun for the glovebox and around the instrument cluster and then paint the center pieces to keep under $1k?

How well will the paint hold up. I'm wondering if all the grimey sweaty hands will wear off the paint.

Jag dealer will paint them for you. They'll send them to their paint shop and mark it up a little.
