Default bonnet vents

Has anyone fitted these bonnet vents to their x150 xkr, any pictures fitted, to a black car would be nice, these are for sale on the Adamesh site £199, anyone seen them cheaper.

You've been contemplating the vent swap for over 2 years, so when will you decide? https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...yes-no-124252/

To add to the difficulty in making a decision, consider the OEM accessory with a chrome "SUPERCHARGED" strake on black mesh. The outer surround comes primed and should be painted the same color as the hood/bonnet. $236 on eBay.

To me, it's a tossup between the chrome "SUPERCHARGED" strake and the chrome "R" design. I'll leave mine stock, since it makes my car faster than if it had the heavier chrome plating.

Those ones look so much better than the alternatives.

EDIT

Here's a pic of them I found on the forum

Took me a while to realise, but yes, there are vents in that picture, and fitted to a car too!

Actually that style of vent without the chromed bar through the middle, just all mesh, would look pretty good I think.

I'd stick some foil over your current vents to see whether you like the silver/black contrast. Personally, I think the vents in the XFR picture above are way too much and look ghetto (and that's coming from me, Mr Brash), whereas your vents in the delighful picture above are perfect.

But then I change things around for something fresh too, I suppose.

Of the choices, I like the ones you have the best. However, if you want a change, why not just paint the vents a contrast color to change the look. When my silver vents started looking faded and tired, and my best friend's black BMW was at my tenant's body shop getting repaired from an accident, I took my vents off, ran them over to the shop, and had them painted black while the BMW was being painted. The black on silver looked like many of the Aston Vantage cars that have contrast vents. It's fast, inexpensive, and an easy way to change the look.

+1
I'm with t-berg on this one I like the contrast of black wheels / black bonnet vents on lighter colored vehicles just take a look at the xkr-s ft

For darker vehicles I think shadow chrome makes a great contrast

Are we still talking vents?

Sorry, nothing more to add as I don't have the R so neither works for my car, though I'm not sure I'd do it anyway.

Honestly I also prefer what you have now, in fact I think it works quite well. Too much chrome will look a bit off, IMHO. By the way, what do you have on your seat belts, are they covers or new webbing?
