Default Brake lights on constantly?

I just noticed that my brake lights are on constantly when power is on - no change when pedal is depressed. When ignition is off and pedal is depressed they do not come on at all. Any ideas?? I just sold the car and am awaiting transporter - I would really like to take care of this for the new owner. Thanks!!

Update: Switch was sticking; made adjustment and all is well!

Not sure but it may be the switch that is activated by the brake pedal.

Wow - you put the update in as I was replying...

That was exactly it, if I nudged pedal up with my toe the lights would go off. Easy adjustment, now can ship car to new owner in good conscience!
