Have a 2007 xk8. Right side headlight has broken mounting tab. I have a spare right side headlight with perfect body but cracked lens. Is there a procedure or instructions to separate the lens from the body so I can make one good headlight out of two??

 

It would probably be easier to repair the tab versus separate the lens. The seal that they bond/seal the lens to the body is hard (the one I tried) to get apart. You might try removing all of the metal holding clips and putting the unit out in the hot sun (or maybe heat gun) and then trying to gently pry apart...I do know that the one I messed with would not come apart and I gave up cuz I was thinking I was going to have to destroy it to get it apart. The next challenge assuming you get it a part without damage would be to assemble them back and to create a water tight bond.
